Stockholm - Saba:
Hundreds of people have canceled New Year's Eve celebrations in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and organized a demonstration in support of Palestine.
Demonstrators gathered on Tuesday evening in Segels Torg Square despite the cold weather, in response to a call by many non-governmental organizations in the country.
Instead of celebrating the New Year, demonstrators expressed their grief for Palestinian children and civilians who were martyred by Zionist weapons during the war of extermination that it has been waging on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
The demonstrators marched towards the Swedish parliament and carried banners reading "Free Palestine, Free Gaza", "Stop the genocide", and "Boycott Israel".
They called for an immediate end to the Zionist genocide in Gaza, and chanted slogans such as "Free Palestine", "Stop the occupation", and "Murderous Israel".
In response to the support provided by Sweden and the United States to "Israel", the demonstrators stated that the two countries are complicit in the war crimes committed by "Tel Aviv".
A statement read on behalf of the demonstrators stated that they did not celebrate New Year's Eve because of the genocide committed by "Israel" against children, women and journalists.
