Ramallah - Saba:
Retired Major General Wassef Erekat, a military and strategic expert, praised the methods of guerrilla warfare, classified as asymmetric warfare, which confuse the Israeli army and are being used by the Palestinian resistance in its recent operations.
Erekat confirmed, in a statement reported by the Palestinian Shehab News Agency, that the operations pursued by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression are based on gathering information and monitoring enemy movements.
The military expert pointed out that this strategy aims to avoid direct confrontation, explaining that the resistance is exploiting the geographical environment, which has been destroyed by the occupation, to transform it into a source of fear and terror through ambushes, planting mines, attacking vehicles, engaging in close combat, and detonating tankers.
According to him, this approach has led to a decline in morale among Israeli soldiers and a decline in their combat efficiency.
He pointed out that the impact of this style of fighting is not limited to the field, but also extends to the political leadership and the Israeli home front, undermining confidence in the army's capabilities. Erekat considered this qualitative development in the resistance's performance a new nightmare haunting the Israeli enemy's soldiers.
