The director of the local water and sanitation institution in the capital Municipality, Eng. Mohammed Madaas, together with the country director of the Direct Aid Society in Yemen, Ali Batbat, opened an artesian well drilling project in the Dhahr Hamir area in Azal district, at 151 thousand dollars.
The project implemented with co-financing from the Kuwait Direct Aid Society of 121 thousand dollars and 30 thousand dollars from the local water corporation in the secretariat benefits about 500 thousand residents of the targeted neighborhoods in the old districts of Azal and Sana'a.
The director of the Water Foundation stressed the importance of this project, which will serve a large segment of citizens in the two districts and alleviate their suffering.
He praised the support and partnership of the Direct Aid Society in the implementation of the project, which comes within the framework of the foundation's efforts and projects to expand water services to all neighborhoods and regions of the capital, thus contributing to covering the needs of citizens of clean drinking water.
Engineer Madaas stressed the keenness to continue the implementation of water and sanitation projects and improve and expand the institution's services provided to citizens.
