Governor Abdullah Atifi visited on Wednesday Bajil district to assess the progress of various development and service projects.
Accompanied by key officials, including Mohammed al-Nahari and Amer Muthanna, the governor inspected road maintenance, health, and agricultural projects in the district.
Atifi reviewed the expansion of Bajil Central Hospital, which includes the construction of new facilities such as an outpatient clinic, a blood bank, a diagnostic center, and a desalination plant for the dialysis center.
He also visited the ongoing construction of a mango canning factory in Wadi Seham and the Agricultural Guidance Office for the Central Agricultural Region, as well as the multi-purpose agricultural cooperative association project.
During the visit, a meeting was held with local leaders to discuss Bajil's service needs in areas such as roads, health, water, electricity, and education. The meeting emphasized the district's growing population and the urgent need for infrastructure improvements to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Governor Atifi highlighted Bajil’s strategic location and abundant natural resources, positioning it as a key area for development.
He stressed the importance of exploiting the district's agricultural potential, including successful cotton, vegetable, and fruit cultivation, as well as the potential for tourism and fishing on the Red Sea coast.
The governor affirmed that Bajil would be developed into a model district with a focus on boosting local economy and service performance.
