Ramallah - Saba:
Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy in the Palestinian Authority government Abdulrazzaq al-Natsheh on Friday warned of "the beginning of the impact on Telecom services (fixed and cellular) and the Internet in the Gaza Strip, starting from the evening hours Friday, due to the fuel shortage."
Al-Natsheh said in a statement this "exacerbates the humanitarian disaster, and deprives citizens of their right to communicate with emergency and relief services."
He added "With the continuation of the aggression for more than 460 days, and the escalation of the practices of the Zionist occupation that obstruct the arrival of fuel convoys, the crisis of scarcity in the quantities allocated to relief, health and service institutions has worsened."
Al-Natsheh indicated in his statement that "fuel is currently the only source for operating communications networks in the Gaza Strip, which exposes these services to the risk of complete cessation."
He stressed that "the inability to enter fuel during the past days has led to a severe shortage in the quantities necessary to operate the networks, which will cause the shutdown of many Palestinian communications stations in various parts of the Strip."
He stressed that "this evening, Friday, there will be widespread outages in fixed communications services in the central and southern areas of the Strip, and they will later extend to include fixed and cellular services in the rest of the areas within the next two days, if the crisis continues."
Al-Natsheh pointed out that "the North Gaza Governorate has been suffering from a complete outage in communications services for about 100 days, as a result of the occupation preventing fuel from reaching those areas."
He also stressed that "the suspension of communications services under these circumstances prevents the communication of civil defense and Red Crescent crews, and prevents citizens from reaching them, and also hinders the ability of health and international institutions to perform their duties, which increases the deterioration of the humanitarian situation."
The Zionist enemy army, supported by the United States and Europe, has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip for 462 consecutive days, as its aircraft bomb the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers and homes of Palestinian civilians and destroy them over the heads of their residents, and prevents the entry of water, food, medicine and fuel.
The Zionist-American aggression left more than 155 thousand Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11 thousand missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and elderly people, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
