Air defenses intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones over the territories of several Russian provinces, Crimea, and the Azov and Black Seas late on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

Sputnik Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that over the course of last night, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones.

The statement added: "31 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea, 16 over the territory of Voronezh Province, 16 over the territory of Krasnodar Territory, 14 over the Sea of Azov, 4 over the territory of Belgorod Province, 2 over the territory of Tambov Province, 1 over the territory of the Republic of Crimea, and 1 over the territory of Kursk Province."

The Ukrainian Armed Forces target, almost daily, the Russian border areas in Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh provinces with drones and missiles.

In turn, the Russian forces continue to carry out their special military operation, with the aim of disarming Ukraine, eliminating threats it poses to Russia's security, and protecting civilians in the Donbas region.
