The Agricultural Association of Grain Producers in Dhamar Governorate launched today the distribution of grain seeds and legumes to the farmers of the Dhamar City Directorate.
The distribution aimed at financing the executive unit for managing project financing and agricultural initiatives under the supervision of the agricultural sector in the governorate, within the emergency winter agriculture project, 430 farmers, including 91 farmers in the first stage.
In the inauguration, the Director of the Executive Unit for the Department of Project financing and agricultural initiatives in the governorate, Dr. Adel Omar, stressed the importance of the project in motivating farmers to grow food crops.
He pointed to the importance of this step to achieve self -sufficiency, especially wheat crops, barley, corn, and legumes, which contributes to enhancing food security and reducing the import of food crops.
He pointed out that the executive unit is keen to support the efforts of agricultural societies and prompt them to play their developmental developmental role, in order to achieve the desired goals of their establishment.
