Doha - Saba:
Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Mohammed Al-Hindi, confirmed tonight that the Palestinian resistance forced the occupation entity to agree to what it had previously rejected.
The Al-Hindi leader said during an interview with Al Jazeera: "The resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people prevented the occupation from achieving its goals, and "Israel" does not want our people to rejoice in lifting the injustice and killing from its sons."
He added: "We expect nothing but evil from the enemy, especially before the implementation of the agreement begins on Sunday."
This evening, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, announced the success of the mediators in reaching an agreement to cease fire in the Gaza Strip.
The Qatari Foreign Minister said in a press conference: "Qatar, Egypt and the United States of America are pleased to announce the reaching of an agreement regarding Gaza, with the approval of the negotiating parties. Work continues tonight to complete the executive aspects."
He added: "The implementation of the agreement will begin on Sunday, January 19, and I thank our partners, Egypt and the United States, for their efforts that contributed to pushing the negotiations forward."
He indicated that according to the agreement, Hamas will release 33 hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.
He also explained that the details of the second and third stages will follow after the completion of the first stage of the agreement, adding, "Qatar, Egypt and the United States will work to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and we are working with Hamas and Israel on the steps to implement the ceasefire agreement."
