Saada Governor Mohammed Awad today inspected the progress of work on the project to establish a laboratory building for the local water and sanitation corporation, at a value of $430,000, funded by the World Bank Group through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Governor Awad, accompanied by the Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation Branch in the governorate, Mohammed Al-Saadi, and the UNOPS Project Officer in Saada, Hajjah and Amran Governorates, Engineer Saleh Soufan, listened to an explanation of the progress of work on the project, which has reached 18 percent completion.
During the visit, the Saada Governor pointed out the importance of the project, which will contribute to providing clean drinking water services and meeting the needs of citizens, stressing the need to implement the project according to the agreed upon technical and engineering specifications.
He stressed the importance of raising community awareness to conserve water and rationalize its use, appreciating the developmental role of the United Nations Office in Saada in various fields. For his part, Al-Saadi explained that the laboratory will contribute to testing water, tracking its sources and obtaining pure water.
