Canberra - Saba:

Serbian Novak Djokovic, ranked seventh in the world, qualified today for the semi-finals of the Australian Open Tennis Championship, the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments.

Djokovic qualified after defeating Carlos Alcaraz, third, after falling behind by a set and winning three sets to one, with the sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4), to continue his superiority over the Spaniard in their direct confrontations, achieving the fifth victory over his opponent who achieved only three victories.

The Serbian star needed three hours and 38 minutes to win the match in his favor to set a date in the semi-finals of the competition with German Alexander Zverev, ranked second in the tournament, who also reached the semi-finals by defeating American Tommy Paul in three sets to one, earlier today in the quarter-finals.

Djokovic has been in impressive form, continuing his winning streak in the competition as he seeks to claim his 11th title in Melbourne and a record 25th in Grand Slams.
