The scene of the Palestinian people's return to their homes in Gaza and the north is a resounding slap in the face to the occupation's plans, and the beginning of the failure of the forced displacement project that the enemy sought to impose with fire, destruction, massacres and a war of extermination, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said on Monday.
"Our people have proven once again with their solid will, the blood of their martyrs and their valiant resistance that all attempts at uprooting and extermination will be shattered in the face of their legendary steadfastness," the Front added in a press release.
"For more than 15 months, the US-backed Zionist war machine has invaded cities and camps and forced more than a million and a half people to flee to the central and southern Gaza Strip, during which it has turned the tents of the displaced and the places of displacement into death ovens under bombardment and starvation, moving them from one hell to another under the blazing summer and the cold of winter in the most horrific crime in modern times, committed in full view of the complicit world."
The Popular Front added that despite this hell, our people remained steadfast and did not break and did not raise the flag, and sent a clear message to the enemy and the world: We are here to stay, no force can uproot us, and no aggression can break our will.
It said the occupier's surrender to the steadfastness of our people will be recorded in the pages of history in letters of light, the title of which is heroism, defiance, steadfastness and perseverance of an entire people.
The Front paid tribute to the steadfastness of our people, to our righteous martyrs, to the families who opened their homes and hearts to their displaced sons, and to the spirit of solidarity and mutual support that was established amidst this suffering in a majestic, unified scene that embodied the greatest meanings of solidarity and popular cohesion.
It stressed that the battle is not over yet, indicating that our people will continue their struggle until their just demands are met to completely stop the aggression, rebuild, break the siege, and end the occupation.
It concluded its statement by saying: "This people who bled and suffered will continue their path towards freedom, will not allow the reproduction of displacement projects, and will continue with their blood and living flesh to write the epic of steadfastness and liberation."
