An officer and a soldier from the Zionist enemy army were killed and eight others injured on Thursday, when a crane fell on enemy forces stationed in the Gaza vacinity.
The enemy army announced in a statement carried by the Zionist newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" the killing of an officer and a soldier from the "Golani" Brigade and the injury of eight others; including a soldier who was seriously injured, in a crane collapse accident in the northern Gaza Envelope.
The army statement explained that Reserve Sergeant First Class Nadav Cohen from the "51st Battalion" of the "Golani Brigade" was killed as a result of a crane falling on him due to strong winds north of the Gaza Strip, and another soldier was also killed; "but his name has not yet been published."
The Zionist "Kan" channel noted that the enemy army opened an investigation into the incident in which two soldiers were killed and eight others were injured when a crane collapsed due to weather conditions in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Zionist Broadcasting Authority confirmed that "the crane collapsed due to strong winds and fell on a tent in which the soldiers were inside." Noting that "this serious incident reflects a lack of preparedness for weather conditions."
Earlier this morning, the "Hadashot Lelo Tsnzura" website reported that an enemy soldier was killed and others were injured "due to the collapse of a crane on the forces in the Gaza envelope due to weather conditions."
Occupied Palestine has been affected by a low-pressure system since Wednesday, accompanied by a cold air mass and heavy rains. The Meteorological Department warned of strong winds that can reach 80 km/hour in some gusts.
Previous statistics from the enemy army indicated that the number of deaths since Operation "Al-Aqsa Flood" on October 7, 2023, has reached only 1,800, including 400 soldiers in the ground operation in Gaza.
The day before yesterday, Tuesday, the Chief of Staff of the enemy army, Major General (res.) Eyal Zamir, stated that 5,942 new Zionist families joined the list of "bereaved families" during the year 2024, while more than 15,000 injured people were absorbed into the rehabilitation system.
