Baghdad - Saba:
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed its strong rejection of any calls or attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinians from their land, especially from Gaza Strip.
"Such calls represent a flagrant violation of international law and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in their land and homeland," the ministry said in a statement, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and stand firmly against this trend.
"Iraq, with its firm and principled position, rejects any plans aimed at emptying the Gaza Strip of its original population, whether through forced displacement or any other means," it said, adding that "these calls pose a grave danger to the stability of the region and fuel the conflict."
It renewed her "call on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities, stand firmly against any attempts to displace Palestinians, and work to protect their legitimate rights to live in safety and dignity on their land."
