Gaza - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced today, Thursday, the opening of ten shelters for displaced families who returned to Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip.
UNRWA said in a statement that it has provided food aid to more than 1.2 million people since the ceasefire began in the Gaza Strip.
UNRWA explained that the organization is the only entity that has the capacity and infrastructure necessary to provide aid of this size throughout the Strip.
Earlier, UNRWA announced the martyrdom of more than 270 of its employees in the Gaza Strip.
UNRWA explained that two-thirds of its facilities were bombed, including those that were used as shelters for displaced families.
According to UNRWA, a number of its employees were arrested, 20 of whom are currently in "Israeli" detention centers. Between October 7, 2023 and January 19, 2025, the Zionist enemy, with American support, launched a genocidal war in Gaza that left more than 160,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing, and constituted one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
