Iranian authorities inaugurated the Iridium Hexafluoride production line at Shahid Raisi Nuclear Facility in Isfahan on Saturday in the central city of Isfahan, in the presence of the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami.
Tasnim International News Agency reported that a number of senior officials in the Iranian nuclear sector also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Iridium Hexafluoride (IRF6) production line at Shahid Raisi Nuclear Facility (UCF) in Isfahan, with the aim of enriching and separating the IR191 isotope.
Iridium Hexafluoride (IRF6) is used in brachytherapy, low-dose medical radiography, and the production of IR192 as a substitute for Co60 in radiotherapy, and the production of IR192 as a source of radiography, especially in the oil and gas industries, non-destructive testing (NDT), and bioradiological research (Study of the interaction of living tissues with radiation).
