US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday, that he had decided to immediately revoke the security clearance of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, and stop his daily intelligence briefings.

Trump said in a post on the "Truth Social" platform: "There is no reason why Joe Biden should continue to obtain classified information.. Therefore, we are immediately revoking his security clearance and stopping his daily intelligence briefings."

He added: "He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the intelligence community to deny me access to information, a traditional courtesy usually extended to former presidents."
