Bangkok-Saba:
Five Thai workers who were held captive by Hamas during Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa arrived in Bangkok today, Sunday.
Agence France-Presse reported that their plane landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok after their release on January 30, as part of a ceasefire agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
Watchara Sreyoon, Pongsak Tana, Sathan Suwanakham, Surasak Lamnao and Panawat Saithao arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 07:30 local time (00:30 GMT), according to Agence France-Presse.
They were received by their relatives and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Panawat's father, Somboon Saithao, said he was "very happy" to be reunited with his son, who he and the rest of his family will host a traditional Thai welcoming ceremony for.
Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangyampongsa said authorities would now monitor the reintegration of the returnees "with an eye on their mental health." "We have never abandoned these captives," he told a news conference at the airport.
