Boston – Saba:
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau mocked U.S. President Donald Trump after his nation's team defeated its American counterpart in the final of the "Four Nations" ice hockey championship.
Trudeau posted a sarcastic comment on his account on the "X" platform stating: "You will not be able to control our country, and you will not be able to control our game."
This response came after Trump's remarks before the final match, when the U.S. president contacted members of his team, saying: "I will cheer the team to beat Canada today, that country that enjoys lower taxes and higher security, and may soon become our valuable and important 51st state."
The final match was held in Boston this Friday and ended with Canada winning 3-2.
There were shouts of disapproval toward the American national anthem, and three brawls broke out on the ice during the match.
The championship, hosted by the cities of Montreal and Boston from February 13 to 21, featured four teams: the United States, Canada, Sweden, and Finland. Notably, the Russian team was not invited to participate in the competitions.
