Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong denied the existence of any economic and trade negotiations between China and the United States, noting that any claims of progress in economic and trade talks between the two countries are groundless and lack any factual basis.
Dong made these remarks during a regular press conference in response to a related question, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
He said that China's position remains consistent and maintains an open attitude towards consultation and dialogue, adding that any form of consultation and negotiation must be conducted on an equal footing based on mutual respect.
