Sana'a - Saba:
The General Secretariat of the Union of Yemeni Writers mourned on Monday the death of Abdullah Ahmed Al-Qadi, who passed away at the age of 70 after a lifetime of giving in the field of poetic creativity and qualitative reading.
In an obituary statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the General Secretariat emphasized that Yemen lost one of the most important founders of the Yemeni poem in the seventies and eighties of the last century, in addition to his critical and linguistic excellence as a natural result of his frequent qualitative readings over the course of his creative life.
The statement pointed to the asceticism of the late poet, to the extent that he did not think of publishing his creative output, except for the contribution of some of his friends in collecting some of his poems, and publishing them in a diwan entitled "The extent of dry grass", which reflects the greatness of his creative experience.
He discussed his work as a researcher at the Yemeni Studies and Research Center in Sana'a, his high humanitarian relationship with a large number of Yemeni creators, and his keenness to stay out of the spotlight.
He expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to his family and the entire Yemeni creative community for this loss. He prayed to God Almighty to grant him the righteous homes, to inspire his family , relatives with patience and solace.
"We are with God and to Him we return."
