Ramallah - Saba:
The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, said, "Israel is targeting the Palestinians in the genocide process in all the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967."
Albanese added, in an interview with Palestine TV, on Saturday, that "the separation between Gaza and the West Bank will remain illusory, as "Israel" works to divide the land and the Palestinians in a way that makes people think that Gaza and the West Bank are separate, but no, the truth is otherwise, "Israel" targets the Palestinians as a people, and this is what characterizes the crime of genocide. The genocide that "Israel" started in Gaza and is spreading to the West Bank so that the Palestinians face the same danger."
She explained that "Israel does not target UNRWA to end the right of return for Palestinian refugees, but rather targets it because it is the largest UN body in occupied Palestine, and therefore getting rid of it will facilitate and accelerate the elimination of any other UN presence that opposes Israel's policy of ethnic cleansing and subjugation of the Palestinian people."
Albanese said: "When I called for the suspension of Israel's membership in the UN General Assembly, I focused on a specific point that even if we ignore the illegal occupation and the apartheid system which is a crime against humanity, even if we ignore genocide, the suspension of Israel's membership in the UN is an obligation for the international community to implement because of what it has done in the last 15 months against the UN It destroyed 70% of its headquarters in Gaza, targeted UNRWA schools that were sheltering refugees, we saw children bombed while seeking shelter in UNRWA facilities, Israel criminalized UNRWA and called it terrorism, considered myself and the UN Secretary-General persona non grata, and accused many UN officials of anti-Semitism and glorifying terrorism."
She continued: "Israel tore up the UN Charter in front of the General Assembly members, and therefore, due to its disrespect for the laws of the United Nations, it does not deserve to remain a member of the United Nations until it retracts , respects the rules and laws of the United Nations organization."
