Pyongyang - Saba:
North Korea has criticized the joint military drills between South Korea and the United States, describing them as "nuclear war drills."
The North's official Korean Central News Agency reported that the joint drills between Seoul and Washington, "Freedom Shield," are considered "a rehearsal for a war of incursion confrontation."
It said that these drills "clearly reveal who is responsible for the deterioration of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula."
South Korea and the United States launched the "Freedom Shield" drills yesterday, Monday, which will last for 11 days, and include simulation and field exercises as part of their regular annual training to confront North Korean threats.
It is noteworthy that Pyongyang launched several ballistic missiles towards the West Sea at the same time as the joint drills between Seoul and Washington began, for the first time since US President Donald Trump returned to the White House.
