Russian doctor Nadezhda Chernyshova warned against taking diuretics without medical advice, as they can lead to heart rhythm disturbances and cardiac arrest.
She explained that these drugs are usually used to treat health problems such as heart disease, but they may pose a risk if people use them without medical supervision, especially to get rid of excess weight or swelling after eating salty foods.
