Ramallah - Saba:
The Palestinian Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs said the conditions of Palestinian detainees in Megiddo Prison remain difficult and harsh, with food scarce and personal hygiene supplies lacking.
According to the Palestinian News Agency "WAFA", the Commission's lawyer on Wednesday said detainee Naseem Hosni Hamad (26 years old), a resident of Sidon, northeast of Tulkarm, is being held in Section 2, Room 1, of Megiddo Prison. He was arrested on December 21, 2023, and suffers from dizziness and constant headaches.
The prison administration deliberately neglects his medical condition and refuses to give him painkillers or take him to the prison clinic. He has been suffering from scabies for 15 months and has received treatment, but he continues to suffer from the humidity, lack of ventilation, and lack of personal hygiene in the prison.
Hamad stated in his testimony before the Commission's lawyer that the break is supposed to last an hour, but in reality, it lasts for half an hour. The prison administration subtracts a full half hour for each detainee, and the remainder is not enough for all the detainees to wash.
Regarding food, he said he has lost 24 kilograms as a result of the systematic starvation policy in the occupation's prisons, where the food is poor and insufficient.
