A meeting in Sana'a , chaired by Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi, discussed the mechanism by which postgraduate programs at private universities were evaluated.
The meeting, which included Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, Chairman of the Higher Supervisory Committee for Evaluation Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub and the heads of private universities, reviewed the steps and procedures taken to evaluate postgraduate programs in private universities in order to adjust, correct conditions of these programs to ensure obtaining quality and qualified outputs capable of competing and contributing to the process of construction and development.
At the meeting, Minister Al-Saadi emphasized that the results of the evaluation were fair and in the direction of improving, quality and development of the educational process and scientific research, as the purpose of the evaluation is to address imbalances and shortcomings, not to exclude or catch mistakes.
He pointed out that the ministry will deliver a copy of the evaluation reports of postgraduate programs in private higher education institutions to the presidents of private universities to review the observations and recommendations contained in them to respond to them for submission to the Supreme Supervisory Committee for evaluation to decide on them and submit the final result to the ministry's leadership to be approved for implementation.
For his part, the Deputy Minister stressed the need to take the observations and recommendations contained in the report seriously and emphasize the importance of follow-up and continuous evaluation of postgraduate programs in order to improve, develop and upgrade the educational process. He called on universities to cooperate with the ministry and provide it with student data and record it in the IT center to enable them to continue their postgraduate studies.
For their part, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub reviewed the steps followed in the evaluation of postgraduate programs in private universities to ensure that these programs are corrected and urged them to adhere to professionally approved standards.
They pointed out that the evaluation reports will be delivered to the presidents of private universities starting next Saturday and give an opportunity for universities to respond to the recommendations and observations contained in the report , subject them to examination , scrutiny and then announce the final results.
