Moscow - Saba:
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed on Thursday that the proposed temporary ceasefire with Ukraine would ease the pressure on Ukrainian forces, noting that his country's pursuit of a long-term peace settlement takes into account Moscow's interests and concerns.
Commenting on the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire with Ukraine, Ushakov said, "Our ultimate goal is a long-term peace settlement, and we are striving to achieve a peaceful settlement that takes into account our country's legitimate interests and our well-known concerns."
Regarding the position on the temporary ceasefire proposal, the Russian presidential aide explained that it is "nothing more than a temporary truce for the Ukrainian army and nothing more," noting that he does not rule out President Vladimir Putin announcing more specific and meaningful terms for the temporary ceasefire proposal in Ukraine.
He emphasized the United States' awareness that Ukraine's NATO membership cannot be discussed in the context of a peaceful settlement and Ukraine's future.
