A severe rainstorm battering Southern California has raised fears among meteorologists that it could trigger tornadoes and destructive winds as it crosses the United States.
CNN reported that heavy rains triggered mudslides that swept away a section of road and trapped several vehicles in San Jacinto, Riverside County, California, on Thursday.
The county fire department said on social media that at least six people were rescued, evaluated by paramedics, and released.
