Vienna - Saba:
Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, criticized the "passive" approach of Western countries towards Iran's nuclear activities.
Ulyanov said at a press conference: "In fact, we must admit that Western countries are pressuring Iran to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty."
Ulyanov's remarks follow a report by Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on Iran's high levels of uranium enrichment and the concerns expressed by Western countries.
In his opening remarks at the previous meeting of the Board of Governors, Grossi claimed that "since the previous report, Iran's reserves of uranium up to 60% purity U-235 have increased from 182 kilograms in the previous quarter to 275 kilograms."
