Engineer Badr Al-Din Al-Tayyar, the representative of the Central Development Interventions Unit in Taiz and Lahj governorates, and Ibrahim Hamim, the Director of Community Initiatives in Lahj governorate, inspected the progress of several water, roads, and education projects in Al-Qabaita district.
During the visit, Al-Tayyar said water projects are a fundamental pillar of development, serving citizens, and alleviating their suffering.
He stated that after Ramadan, community support will be provided to establish 220 rainwater harvesting tanks, adding to the 180 previous initiatives that have contributed to the provision of water and self-sufficiency for many villages in the district.
The Director of Initiatives in the governorate emphasized that expanding the implementation of initiatives in the areas of water, roads, and education represents a fundamental pillar for achieving the desired development goals.
He pointed out that community contribution to the implementation of these projects has brought about a qualitative shift in the lives of citizens, reflecting the importance of the community's role in achieving local development.
Engineer Suleiman Al-Hamidi, the Supervision and Follow-up Officer for the Interventions Unit in Taiz and Lahj, explained the importance of activating these initiatives in cooperation with the community, emphasizing that water projects are a priority for achieving development and improving living conditions in rural areas.
During the visit, along with the unit's engineering team in both governorates, they inspected Al-Nasr Popular Basic and Secondary School, the extent of the damage to several of its classrooms as a result of the aggression, and the interventions required to restore and rehabilitate them, which would contribute to the continuity and efficiency of the educational process.
The representative of the Interventions Unit, the Director of Initiatives, and their companions also reviewed the district's needs for projects that contribute to the delivery of services and facilitating movement between remote areas.
