Transportation and Public Works Minister Mohammed Qahim and Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi inspected on Tuesday ongoing works to improve infrastructure in vital facilities in the city square, as part of preparations for Eid al-Fitr.
During the visit, they were briefed by the Executive Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, Abdulnasser Al-Sharif, and the head of the Works Sector, Engineer Mohammed Muthana, on the progress of implementing cleanliness plans, planting streets, preparing beaches for visitors, in addition to the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation work in various service facilities.
Transport and Works Minister stressed the importance of focusing efforts on enhancing the city's readiness to receive visitors during the Eid al-Fitr vacation. He praised the level of performance in the cleaning implementation, lighting and rehabilitation of roads and sidewalks.
For his part, Al-Hodeida governor pointed out that the efforts made in the cleaning and improvement work come as part of an integrated plan to improve the general appearance of the city. He emphasized the continuation of cleaning and waste removal campaigns on a daily basis, in addition to maintaining lighting and improving the main streets, to ensure a clean and prepared environment for Eid al-Fitr.
The works sector official stressed that technical and engineering teams are working at a high pace to complete maintenance projects and rehabilitate service facilities, with a focus on roads and sidewalks to ensure smooth traffic flow to meet the needs of residents and visitors during Eid.
In turn, the Executive Director of the Cleanliness Fund pointed out that the field teams continue to implement a plan that includes deploying cleanliness teams, rehabilitating public spaces, and ensuring the sustainability of improvement works to create a clean environment for the city's residents and visitors.
