Ireland - Saba:
Authorities in Northern Ireland declared a state of emergency on Sunday following a massive fire near the town of Hilltown due to unprecedentedly high temperatures.
A network of media sources, citing relevant authorities, reported that the fire spread over an area of more than three kilometers.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) reported that more than 100 firefighters and 14 firefighting units were deployed to the site of the fire on Sandbank Road in Hilltown on Saturday.
The service added that the fire's area was approximately two miles, noting that it "burned through large areas of forest near homes." It noted that its crews were able to fully extinguish the fire by 2:53 a.m. Sunday.
Various fires broke out across the United Kingdom last week amid unusually warm and dry weather for this time of year.
