Iranian media revealed details of the meeting that the Sultanate of Oman will host next Saturday between Iran and the United States.
The Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will lead the negotiating delegation in the indirect talks with the United States in Oman, noting that US Middle East envoy Steven Witkoff will represent his country in the negotiations.
The agency added that "Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi will mediate in the indirect talks between Iran and the United States."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated earlier today that the United States will hold high-level talks with Iran next Saturday in the Sultanate of Oman.
Araghchi said in a post on the X platform, as reported by Sputnik, that the talks are "as much an opportunity as they are a test. The ball is in America's court."
Last Monday evening, US President Donald Trump said in a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the war criminal, that "we are in direct talks with Iran," adding, "Next Saturday, there will be a big meeting and we will see what happens."
Trump stated that "reaching an agreement with Iran is preferable and self-evident," expressing his hope that these negotiations will be successful.
Trump indicated that the potential new agreement between the United States and Iran will be "different from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and will be much stronger," he said.
On March 30, US media reported that US President Donald Trump had threatened Iran with "unprecedented bombardment" if it did not reach an agreement with the United States regarding its nuclear program.
The United States unilaterally withdrew from the agreement in May 2018 and reimposed economic sanctions on Iran. Tehran responded by waiving some of the restrictions on its nuclear activity stipulated in the agreement.
Because of its nuclear program, Iran is subject to US sanctions, which, among other things, block both government accounts and the accounts of officials and legal entities.
