The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects varying intensity of rain in the highlands and coastal areas, and hot weather during the day in the desert areas, over the next 24 hours.
According to the center's weather bulletin, clear to partly cloudy weather is expected during the day, with the possibility of scattered rain of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, over parts of the western and northwestern highlands in the governorates of Sana'a, Amran, Dhamar, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sa'dah, and Raymah.
Fog or water mist may form on the highlands, mountain slopes, and parts of the interior plateaus during the night and early morning.
Clear to partly cloudy weather is expected along the country's coasts in general, with the possibility of light rain along the inland parts of the western coast. Partly cloudy weather is expected over the Socotra Archipelago, with the possibility of rain of varying intensity in parts of the island.
Winds will be active to strong along the southern west coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, reaching maximum speeds of 35 knots, causing rough seas and high waves.
The center indicated that the weather is likely to be clear and hot during the day in desert areas, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34 and 39 degrees Celsius. Winds will be moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.
The center urged citizens in areas where rainfall is expected to avoid valleys and flood paths.
It warned fishermen and beachgoers south of the west coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the western Gulf of Aden of rough seas and high waves.
It also warned citizens in the Tihama Plain and desert areas of the hot weather, urging them to avoid direct sunlight and to drink plenty of fluids.
