Sana'a - Saba:
Bakeries from the north to the south of Gaza Strip are completely closed after running out of flour, in a scene that reflects the magnitude of the humanitarian catastrophe that the besieged Gaza Strip is going through from the Israeli enemy, which continues to perpetuate genocide.

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that conditions in Gaza have become "tragic" in every sense of the word, noting that the lack of basic materials, especially flour, threatens the food security of more than two million people.

This crisis comes at a critical time, as Gaza's hospitals are also suffering from a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, amid warnings of a complete collapse of humanitarian services if these conditions continue without urgent intervention from the international community.

In light of the ongoing blockade and the total closure of crossings, the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza Strip is worsening as the work of bakeries, one of the main pillars in providing food to the population, has stopped, signaling an imminent disaster that threatens the lives of civilians.

The head of the Bakery Association in Gaza, Abdel Nasser al-Ajrami, confirmed that Gaza Strip is witnessing a "real war of starvation," as many bakeries stopped working due to the lack of basic materials, mainly flour, diesel and yeast, in addition to cooking gas, which led to an almost complete paralysis in the production of bread.

"The closure and blockade imposed by the Israeli enemy on goods is the main cause of this crisis," Al-Ajrami told Shehabnews Agency, adding that the living situation in Gaza Strip has seriously deteriorated, as citizens are living under the burden of war and deprivation, amid the inability of the concerned authorities to intervene.

About 450 tons of flour are consumed in Gaza Strip every day, and bakeries used to cover 50 percent of the population's needs. With the destruction of a large percentage of the 70 automated bakeries - out of 140 - especially in the north of the Strip, the crisis is growing, amid losses estimated at millions of dollars.

For his part, Amjad al-Shawa, director general of the network of NGOs in Gaza Strip, warned of an imminent humanitarian disaster in the Strip, after the quantities of flour allocated to bakeries subsidized by the World Food Program (WFP) completely ran out.

Al-Shawa explained to Shehab Agency that these bakeries used to cover about 30 percent of the needs of the various shelters, while the remaining quantities are distributed to the people, who rely heavily on humanitarian aid in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade.

He pointed out that running out of flour threatens to stop the preparation of hot meals in takiyat and community kitchens, which could lead to an acceleration in the deterioration of the "already deteriorating" humanitarian situation - as he put it - warning that the closure of bakeries will enter the Gaza Strip in the stage of famine, in light of the loss of the basic elements of life.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip is descending towards catastrophe and requires urgent international intervention to save civilians by opening crossings , ensuring the entry of food and medical supplies before it is too late.
