The Government Media Office said that the Zionist enemy targeted more than 4,000 houses and facilities equipped with solar energy systems as part of a systematic policy to destroy alternative sources of electricity in Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Saturday, the office emphasized that the enemy continues to commit its crimes against civilians and infrastructure in Gaza Strip, in the context of the genocidal war that has been ongoing for more than 18 months, as it launched barbaric bombings and systematic air , land attacks that targeted thousands of houses and civilian facilities, especially those equipped with solar energy systems, as an alternative source of electricity, in an attempt to destroy the remaining elements of life in all governorates of Gaza Strip without exception.
These brutal raids, according to the statement, resulted in the destruction of more than 4,000 houses and facilities containing solar energy systems, which are considered a vital artery for providing alternative electricity and operating medical equipment in hospitals and health centers, water wells, desalination plants, universities, schools, bakeries, factories, basic household facilities, and other vital sectors.
It warned that this systematic targeting comes in the context of repeated threats issued by officials and ministers of the enemy government, most notably the Minister of War, who publicly vowed to target all energy sources in Gaza Strip, including solar energy, in a clear effort to return the Strip to "primitive times," which is a full-fledged war crime according to international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
The office emphasized that these crimes constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a flagrant breach of the most basic humanitarian principles, and fall within the policy of genocide practiced by the enemy against more than 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
It called on the international community, United Nations organizations, especially the Human Rights Council, to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and act immediately to stop the genocidal war and the ongoing aggression against civilians and vital facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The Government Media Office called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to document these crimes , submit them to international courts and forums, and to work hard to hold enemy leaders accountable and prosecute them for their crimes against humanity.
