Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil stated on Sunday that what is happening in the Gaza Strip can only be described as genocide and must be stopped.

His remarks came during a press interview on the sidelines of his participation in the fourth edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held in southern Turkey.

Regarding the war of extermination carried out by the Israeli occupation in Gaza since October 7, 2023, Gil stressed that the situation in Gaza is unsustainable.

He affirmed that what is happening there “can only be called genocide,” expressing his country’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

He also called for the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
