The University Student Forum in Yemeni universities condemned the arrest and deportation of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil by US authorities due to his pro-Palestine stance and participation in peaceful protests.
The forum considered these measures a violation of academic and human rights and an attempt to suppress free voices within universities.
The statement described the accusation of threatening "national security" as a pretext to suppress freedom of expression and denounced Columbia University's complicity in revoking his university card. It called on human rights and student organizations to take urgent action to end this injustice.
The statement also called on students worldwide to stand up against this injustice and support the Palestinian cause, organizing protests and marches within universities to affirm that Palestine is the cause of all free people.
