The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) announced on Wednesday that it refuses to compromise the benefits and rights of prisoners, calling for canceling all punitive measures against them , their families, and enacting laws that protect their rights , ensure their dignity and decent living.
In a statement on the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners' Day, which falls on April 17 of each year, the Popular Front demanded "the formulation of a comprehensive national strategy for the issue of prisoners, taking it out of the seasonal pattern to an integrated daily struggle, in which everyone participates."
In its statement, it renewed its "pledge of loyalty" to the prisoners in enemy prisons, and called for making their cause at the forefront of national, field, official and popular action.
It added: "The resistance pledges to break the shackles of captivity and work hard to liberate all of them without exception."
The PFLP called on the international community and its human rights bodies, especially the International Criminal Court, "to get out of the state of paralysis and shameful complicity, and to take urgent action to hold the enemy accountable for its crimes against the prisoners, and impose sanctions that put an end to these violations."
Earlier today, Palestinian prisoner organizations said in a statement on the eve of Palestinian Prisoner's Day. The enemy system continues its brutality against prisoners , detainees amid international silence and terrifying helplessness as the genocide continues.
