Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced that goalkeeper Ederson will miss his team's trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday in the 33rd round of the English Premier League.
Ederson will miss the Everton game after suffering a groin injury in Man City's 5-2 win over Crystal Palace in the last round.
Guardiola said of the Brazilian international in a press conference on Friday: "He's not ready for tomorrow's game. "I don't know if he will be out for a long time or not. But as far as tomorrow's game is concerned, he's not ready."
The Manchester City boss confirmed that striker Erling Haaland will not be ready for the upcoming games, while Nathan Ake and John Stones are improving but will still be out.
There is good news for Akanji and Phil Foden.
Akanji is close to returning from the adductor injury he sustained against Real Madrid in mid-February, while Foden is progressing, having missed the Crystal Palace game with an injury sustained during the Manchester derby.
"Phil Foden returned to training on Thursday and today was his second training session since his injury at Old Trafford," Guardiola said.
"Akanji has had two or three sessions with us and I think he is moving very well."
