London - Saba:
Newcastle crushed Crystal Palace by five goals in a postponed match from the 29th stage of the Premier League and took a giant step towards qualifying for the Champions League.

At St. James' Park on Thursday, Jacob Murphy opened the scoring for Newcastle in the 14th minute, before Crystal Palace defender Mark Gueye added an own goal in the 38th minute.

Harvey Barnes and Fabian Schar added the third and fourth goals for Newcastle in the second and eighth minutes of first-half stoppage time, respectively.

Newcastle, who clinched their fifth consecutive victory in the competition and their biggest victory in the championship during the current season, rose to 59 points, advancing to third place in the league behind Arsenal by four points, while Crystal Palace's balance stopped at 43 points in 12th place.

It is noteworthy that the top five in the Premier League standings will participate in the next edition of the Champions League, according to UEFA regulations.
