Stockholm - (Saba):
Hundreds of people gathered in central Stockholm on Saturday evening to show solidarity with Palestine and protest Israeli attacks on Gaza.
Protesters marched from Odenplan to the Swedish Parliament, waving Palestinian flags and holding signs that read: "There is a massacre in Palestine," "Freedom is near," and "Permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza."
Swedish activist Malin Åkerström, who has been attending weekly pro-Palestine rallies since 2023, described the situation in Gaza as a "politically-driven famine," blaming the U.S. for backing Israel’s occupation and the ongoing genocide.
She also criticized Western media for biased coverage, saying it portrays the crisis as a war between two states, rather than a one-sided genocide against Palestinians.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli assault on Gaza has reportedly resulted in around 168,000 casualties, most of them women and children, with over 11,000 people still missing.
