Sana'a - Saba:
Sana'a Capital Mayor on Wednesday held the first phase of running races for students participating in summer courses in al-Sabeen, al-Wahda, and al-Thawra districts.
Organized by the Summer Courses and Activities Subcommittee in collaboration with the the capital Sana'a Youth and Sports Office and other entities, the races aim to improve physical fitness, identify talents, and foster competition among the students.
The top five finishers in each category from these district-level races will qualify for the second and final phase, which will determine the overall winners at the Sana'a Capital Mayor level.
Following the race in al-Sabeen district, Dr. Abdulrahim al-Hamran (President of Sa'ada University), Mohammed al-Banous (Deputy Secretary of the Capital Sana'a), and scholar Ibrahim al-Jalal honored the first-place winners with cups, medals, certificates, and gifts.
In al-Wahda district, Sami Humaid, the Director of the District and Abdullah al-Dharafi, Public Mobilization Officer, attended the race. Winners were later honored by al-Dharafi and other local leaders.
The race in al-Thawra district was attended by Zaid Jahaf, Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Capital Sana'a, and other district officials.
Local officials emphasized the importance of such activities in creating a competitive spirit among students, discovering their talents, and developing their physical and intellectual abilities.
They also highlighted the role of sports in providing students with valuable skills and physical fitness.
