Gaza - Saba:
Hamas described the outcomes of the Palestinian Central Council meeting, held in Ramallah on April 23-24, 2025, as a "national disappointment" that deepens the division and entrenches the monopoly of Palestinian decision-making.
It is considered that the meeting has ignored the aspirations of the Palestinian people, given the escalating aggression against Gaza and settlement activity in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and has failed to fulfill the minimum national responsibility to confront these challenges.
Hamas criticized the omission of the outcomes of the national dialogues, particularly the "Beijing Agreement," and the lack of genuine representation and partnership in national decision-making. It noted that the meeting was boycotted by prominent factions such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Palestinian National Initiative, and the withdrawal of the Democratic Front, representing a widespread rejection of the approach of monopoly and exclusion.
The movement also expressed its rejection of the insults directed by the Palestinian Authority President against the resistance forces during the sessions, stressing that the current situation requires support for the resistance, not attacking it.
Hamas concluded by renewing its call to rebuild the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on national and democratic foundations and to unify Palestinian ranks through comprehensive elections, ensuring a unified national leadership that reflects the aspirations and sacrifices of the Palestinian people.
