The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research announced today the results of the competitive admission process for outstanding schools for the academic year 1447H.
During a press conference held at Abdul Nasser Secondary School for Outstanding Students, the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, congratulated the successful male and female students who passed the admission and selection tests for the four outstanding schools in the capital city and the governorates of Ibb and Hajjah.
He emphasized their pivotal role in advancing the nation’s future across various fields, describing them as "future scientists in the making," and urged them to persevere in their academic pursuits.
The minister also commended the efforts of those managing the outstanding schools for adhering to the required standards, ensuring the selection of the best students.
The press conference was attended by the ministry’s undersecretaries for basic education, Hadi Ammar and Ibrahim Sharaf, as well as the head of the technical office, Ziad Al-Rafiq.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Qasimi, principal of Abdul Nasser Secondary School, stated that 1,636 male students applied for admission to the school, competing for 200 seats. A total of 1,556 students took the exam, while 80 were absent. Meanwhile, 269 female students applied for admission to Al-Shaheed Al-Sammad Secondary School, competing for 100 seats, with 249 taking the exam and 100 being accepted.
The list of accepted male students at Abdul Nasser School begins with Omar Abdullah Al-Zari, who achieved a success rate of 87.93%, and ends with Abdulrahman Nasser Al-Ma’afa with 61.74%. For female students at Al-Shaheed Al-Sammad School, the list starts with Raghad Abdul Salam Al-Khalidi (85.27%) and concludes with Alaa Khaled Al-Thurah (54.63%).
Dr. Al-Qasimi outlined the procedural steps for admission and selection, from registration to the announcement of results, ensuring accuracy and transparency throughout the process.
The press conference was also attended by the ministry’s director of basic and secondary education, Mohammed Al-Shami, the principal of Al-Shaheed Al-Sammad Secondary School for Outstanding Female Students, Ruqayya Mathna, and the director of Al-Tahrir District, Naji Al-Shaayani.
Dr. Faisal Rajih, principal of Al-Shaheed Al-Sammad Secondary School for Outstanding Students in Ibb, told Saba News Agency that 145 male students applied, with 120 accepted—the highest achiever being Amjad Radwan Salam (86%) and the lowest being Issam Mahmoud Al-Mahmoudi (60%).
Meanwhile, Nabil Al-Hajjaji, principal of Al-Shaheed Taha Al-Madani Secondary School for Outstanding Students in Hajjah, stated that 142 students applied for the competitive admission, with 108 accepted—the top student being Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Akhram (92%) and the last being Yusuf Mohsen Al-Saqya (48%).
