Sana'a - Saba:
The Yemeni Center for Human Rights condemned on Friday the heinous massacre committed by Islah Party mercenaries affiliated with the aggression coalition against Yemen.
In a statement, the center expressed its strong condemnation of the horrific crime committed by this gang when they deliberately shelled children playing in al-Hashmah residential area in al-Taezeyah district, killing five children:
- Mubarak Yasser Ali Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Sharabi (14 years old)
- Osama Abu Bakr Ahmed Ali (12 years old)
- Bashir Akram Mohammed Al-Fadhli
- Anas Jawad Mohammed Saleh (14 years old)
- Ahmed Ali Muqbil Abdullah Al-Atmi (12 years old)
The statement indicated that medical reports from al-Rifai Hospital in Sofitel area confirmed that the victims arrived lifeless, suffering from severe injuries caused by shrapnel from direct shelling, a scene that reflects a blatant violation of international and humanitarian conventions.
The Center noted that this crime constitutes a war crime under international humanitarian law and is also a flagrant violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which guarantees the protection of children in armed conflict.
The Center expressed its condemnation of this crime, which represents one link in a series of violations committed by the aggression coalition and its mercenaries for more than ten years. It called on the Security Council and the United Nations to shoulder their responsibility in condemning this crime and previous crimes committed by the aggression coalition and its mercenaries against the Yemeni people.
The statement called on local and international human rights and humanitarian organizations to break their silence regarding the coalition's crimes, which amount to complicity, and to take a stand in condemning this crime.
It emphasized that the blood of Taiz's children, spilled on the sidewalks of al-Arsoum, is not a passing statistic, but a stain on humanity. It appealed to the world to take urgent action to halt the mercenaries' brutality, which is turning neighborhoods into mass graves for children.
