Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer met on Tuesday with Senior Envoy of the World Food Programme (WFP) to Yemen Abdullah Al-Wardat.
During the meeting, Minister Amer was briefed on WFP’s ongoing efforts to engage with donor countries to resume funding for humanitarian projects in Yemen.
He acknowledged the WFP's demonstrated commitment to rectifying previous violations and expressed the government’s willingness to move forward, emphasizing a new phase built on transparency and credibility.
The minister also underscored the necessity for the WFP to ensure the safety and compliance of food shipments prior to arrival at Yemeni ports—highlighting this as a key measure to strengthen collaboration between the government and the program.
For his part, al-Wardat praised the Ministry for its continued facilitation and support in reactivating the WFP activities and initiatives across the country.
