The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed eight Ukrainian drones overnight.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "Last night, eight Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense systems on duty."
It added that "three drones were destroyed over the territory of the Republic of Crimea, three over the Sea of Azov, one over the territory of Belgorod Oblast, and one over the territory of Kursk Oblast."
Ukrainian forces target Russian border areas in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and Rostov Oblasts, as well as the Crimean Peninsula, with drones and missiles almost daily.
For their part, Russian forces have responded by targeting exclusively Ukrainian military infrastructure, as well as facilities of the military-industrial complex, everything related to the storage, repair, or manufacture of military equipment, and centers for the concentration of Ukrainian armed forces personnel and foreign mercenaries.
