A meeting at the Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control, chaired by the Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Eng. Maeen Al-Maqari, who also heads the Authority’s Board of Directors, discussed the conditions of traders dealing in electrical and energy materials.
Attended by the Authority’s Executive Director, Sam Al-Bashiri, Minister Al-Maqari emphasized the importance of adhering to standard specifications and approved regulations to ensure product quality.
He highlighted the Authority’s plan to implement a "blacklist" policy against non-compliant traders to regulate the market, protect consumers, and safeguard the national economy. He also noted the readiness of the Authority’s Training and Qualification Center to enhance the skills of employees in companies operating in the electricity, energy, and other private sector fields.
For his part, the Executive Director pointed to the pivotal role of the recently launched Electricity and Renewable Energy Center in providing testing services according to global standards, ensuring the quality of electrical materials , machinery, and reducing losses caused by non-compliant products.
He urged traders to register on the Authority’s e-services platform, "Tasheel," to facilitate their transactions.
Meanwhile, traders in electrical and energy materials praised the efforts of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment, as well as the Standardization Authority, for their commitment to providing distinguished services and supporting the private sector.
Following the meeting, the traders toured the laboratories of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Center, observing its modern equipment for testing electrical products and ensuring their compliance with standards.
