Jawf - Saba:
The branch of the General Telecommunications Corporation in Al-Jawf launched on Wednesday work on several telecommunications projects in Maton District.
During the inauguration, Eng. Abdullah Thawabah, Director of the Corporation’s branch in the province, explained that the technical team affiliated with the Corporation had opened a Yemen Mobile telecommunications station, which was established earlier this year in the areas of Ma’imira and Muthallath Bin Shihab in Maton District, and put it into service.
He highlighted the importance of the station project in covering wide areas in the districts of Maton, Zaher, and Matammah, as well as its role in improving communications and providing this service to citizens.
Eng. Thawabah noted that the telecommunications projects, for which work was launched and inaugurated, are part of several projects established in the governorate during 2025 AD, which are being operationalized successively. These include the project to connect fiber-optic cables to the stations, in line with the implementation of the information security policy adopted by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology to protect Yemen’s telecommunications network from espionage and hacking.
He praised the efforts of the local authority and security agencies in the province in addressing challenges to implement and inaugurate telecommunications projects in Al-Jawf.
