Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, stated on Thursday that the health system in the Gaza Strip is experiencing its worst conditions due to the ongoing Israeli genocide campaign.
In press remarks reported by Palestinian media, Abu Salmiya explained that the Israeli enemy has destroyed over 70% of medical facilities, severely undermining the ability to provide treatment, especially for children.
He noted that only two children’s hospitals are currently operational in the Strip, with a capacity not exceeding 100 beds, amid increasing needs and a severe shortage of resources.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 61,258 Palestinian civilians, mostly children and women, and 152,045 injuries so far—a non-final toll, as thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble or in streets, unreachable by rescue teams.
